NASHVILLE, Tenn.-A-Plus Network Inc. said it has signed definitive agreements to acquire three regional paging companies, which will give the Nashville, Tenn.-based company an additional 34,000 paging units.

A-Plus said it intends to purchase Hi-Tech Paging Corp., West Florida Communications and Page East Inc. The combined purchase price of the three companies will be in cash and stock, to be determined by 1995 final operating results. Hi-Tech provides service to the state of Virginia and the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore, Md., area. West Florida has headquarters in Pensacola, Fla. Page East is a North Carolina-based paging provider.

With the acquisitions, A-Plus will have more than 566,000 total paging and voice mail units in service on a pro forma basis. Hi-Tech and Page East are affiliates of A-Plus, and operate on the same paging frequency.

Elliott Singer, A-Plus chairman and chief executive officer, said, “These planned purchases are indicative of our commitment to continue building A-Plus Network as the leading provider of paging service based in the Southeastern United States.”
