WASHINGTON-The American Mobile Telecommunications Association announced signing an agreement with Rand McNally Corp. to allow the Federal Communications Commission to use Rand’s proprietary major trading area definitions in the licensing of 900 MHz specialized mobile radio systems.
Agreement terms call for each MTA licensee to pay $125 per license to Rand McNally. The 900 MHz service was not included in prior wireless mobile industry and Rand McNally agreements.
