Lava Mobiles launch Android smartphone ‘S12’

Lava Mobiles launched S12 – their very first Android-driven smartphone. Power by Android 2.2 – Froyo, it is priced at an affordable INR 9,999 (approx. USD 200).

“At Lava Mobiles our mission is to bring great experiences to our users. The Android platform has the potential to help users do more with their mobile phone. We are working hard to build an eco-system together with application developers to create relevant innovative solutions”, Arvind Jha, Director,  Lava International Ltd  said.

Lava S12 phone features 5 megapixel fixed focus camera, Stereo FM radio with RDS, 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 2.1, 1300mAh battery and memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. S12 runs on a 600 MHz Qualcomm 7227 processor and has a 3.2 inch HVGA touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. It is  pre-loaded with around 21 apps on the smartphone including an office suite, Saavan, Times Of India, TuneWiki, Zenga TV and Hungama MyPlay.
