Lucent receives $900M tax refund

NEW YORK-Lucent Technologies Inc. said it received a $901 million tax refund from the Internal Revenue Service Tuesday. The payment included a refund of $816 million plus interest of $86 million. The refund was part of a previously announced agreement between Lucent and the IRS and was approved by the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation.
