TELSTRA, SINGTEL COMPLETE Y2K TESTS

SAN FRANCISCO-Telstra Corp. Ltd. of Australia and Singapore Telecom said they successfully
completed Year 2000 service continuity tests, demonstrating that Telstra will be able to continue to provide
international network access for both International Direct Dial and Integrated Services Digital Network
services.

The six-day testing included local infrastructure in each country, as well as international gateways. A
number of key dates were simulated in both Australia’s and Singapore’s time zones, said the companies, and there were
no instances of call failure. All exchanges were performed as required before, during and after transitions to critical
dates.
