NEW YORK-Millicom International Cellular SA announced it was awarded a wireless local loop license to develop broadband data and telephony services in Venezuela.
The license covers about 6 million people near the border of Colombia.
“This latest license award complements MIC operations in Latin America and illustrates the success of our strategy to develop broadband data and telephony services over dedicated high-speed wireless networks,” said Marc Beuls, the company’s president and chief executive officer.
