LTEWS Vibe: Selling Mobility Without the Car?

It seems as though this is something you would never hear from a car maker, especially a luxury brand like BMW, but this is exactly what they said at the keynote of Connected Cars 2014.
Seeing a car maker embrace the customer experience beyond the car is a key step forward in this market. As I’ve talked with many different constituencies in this space over the last 24 hours it seems to be a consistent view that one of the stumbling blocks to success in is the understanding of how to market to the end user beyond the vehicle.
Whether the car makers are able to do this without the assistance of an OTT player such as Apple or Google or a wireless operator remains to be seen, but BMW is certainly saying all the right things in their discussion of this space. Looking forward to hearing more from them on this topic!
