Partnerships: UPMC with Alcatel-Lucent; MIPS and Myriad Group; and more

UPMC and Alcatel-Lucent have signed an agreement to jointly develop a telemedicine platform and suite of applications that will enable patients to receive care even when they are far from doctors and hospitals. This newest collaboration builds on a relationship and co-development agreement dating back to 2006 between UPMC and Alcatel-Lucent. The solution is expected to be ready for commercial launch in early 2013.

MIPS Technologies Inc., provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores, announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Myriad Group AG. MIPS will make Myriad’s Dalvik Turbo Virtual Machine available to its licensees as part of its standard distribution of Android for the MIPS architecture.

InMobi, independent mobile ad network, and Amobee, end-to-end mobile advertising solutions and services, announce a 3-year, multi-million dollar partnership. Amobee’s large portfolio of Fortune 500 brands will now have access to InMobi’s mobile ad network, which is capable of reaching over 300 million consumers across 200 countries worldwide.

iBAHN, digital entertainment and Internet solutions for the hospitality and meeting industries, announces that it has completed a full WiFi services installation at the St Giles Hotel. The hotel is equipped with iBAHN’s WiFi services allowing guests in the public areas to access the internet securely, with a high quality of service and technical support in key languages. In addition, iBAHN also has provided WiFi services for the hotel’s conference spaces.
