Sprint Nextel to unveil dual screen Android phone?

There are all kinds of rumors swirling about tonight’s Sprint Nextel Corp. announcement. Will David Blaine make WiMAX disappear? Will Dan Hesse pull an iPhone out of his hat? Or will it be something as mundane as a new Android phone?

Actually, while it may be yet another Android phone, this particular one may not be quite so mundane, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that it has it on good authority the announcement will be of a new dual-screen Android handset from Kyocera Wireless Corp.

The phone will apparently sport two 3.5-inch screens that can “stack side by side,” to make one mega screen, using a pivot hinge.

For those of you trying to picture it, imagine your smartphone morphing into a 7-inch tablet.

The phone is apparently named the Kyocera Echo, and aside from its double trouble screen we know very little else about it just yet. Will it be WiMAX enabled? Who knows. Will it cost double what a regular phone would? Your guess is as good as ours. Will it use double the battery life?

We’re hoping David Blaine will be able to reveal all tonight … .
