Cellular
–Italy: Telecom Italia has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks as one of its main suppliers in the modernization of its 3G network.
WiMAX
–Denmark: Alvarion announced that ELRO is expanding its nationwide mobile WiMAX network in the country with equipment from Alvarion and ECI Telecom.
–United States: FairPoint has chosen Nortel Networks to provide WiMAX network equipment for a high-speed Internet offering in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
Miscellaneous
–Bulgaria: Vivatel chose Nokia Siemens Networks to provide its IP Multimedia Subsystem platform and mobile VoIP application server for a converged services offering.
–India: Tata Teleservices awarded a contract to Ceragon Networks to provide microwave backhaul equipment.
