Qwest’s wireless revenues dip, customer loss slows

Qwest Communications International Inc. reported another quarter of positive growth, with profits of $246 million that more than doubled compared with the second quarter of 2006.
The company’s wireless revenues dipped by about 2% year-over-year and average revenue per user fell slightly from $52 to $51, but its consumer ARPU-based on its bundles-increased about 8% to $53. Qwest lost about 5,000 wireless customers during the second quarter of 2007 compared with a loss of 7,000 customers during the same period last year. The company ended the latest quarter with 807,000 wireless customers.
Qwest also reported that about 60% of its customers have bundles of multiple products, and that it’s seeing the fastest growth from its sales of data, Internet and video services; the segment’s revenues were up 11% from the second quarter of 2006.
