Cyphermint Inc. announced a deal to provide mobile payment services for Texas-based financial services provider Fidelity Express.
The Marlborough, Mass.-based startup said registered Fidelity Express customers will be able to initiate payments from their cellphones or schedule mobile alerts allowing them to process payments with a single click. Consumers will also be able to load funds onto their devices and manage their funds from cell phones, a PC or a PayCash-enabled kiosk.
Fidelity Express is a subsidiary GSC Enterprises Inc. and provides point-of-sale services at 5,000 retail outlets in the United States. “Mobile payments are a remarkable new application for wireless customers and we are convinced that Cyphermint’s PayCash System is absolutely the right approach,” said Fidelity Express executive Pat Odom.
Cyphermint is squaring off on the crowded mobile payment playground against Obopay Inc., Sapphire, TextPayMe, Secure Wireless Transfers Corp. and others. PayPal Mobile, which launched more than a year ago, is also making headway in the space.
