Buongiorno expands U.K. presence with Inventa purchase

Mobile content behemoth Buongiorno Vitaminic is expanding its video offerings with the $1.3 million acquisition of Inventa, a London-based mobile video production agency.
Buongiorno, which operates a host of direct-to-consumer storefronts around the world under the Blinko brand, hopes to target U.K. users with original clips including music videos and lifestyle programs. Inventa has produced more than 2,300 minutes of video clips, the companies said, including celebrity-driven content from chef Jamie Oliver, BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong and the band Ministry of Sound.
“The U.K. is one of the most advanced markets in the world for new media and this acquisition confirms Buongiorno’s drive to innovate and its commitment to play a leading role in the booming market for mobile video and TV,” said Luca Pagano, managing director for Buongiorno U.K.
