MTV Networks’ Mika Salmi will oversee a new executive team charged with directing the company’s digital efforts across platforms.
The Viacom subsidiary said the group will “provide strategic guidance to the company’s portfolio of multiplatform brands” as well as sharing best practices regarding operations, technology and distribution. The team will report to Salmi, MTV’s president of global digital media, and work with digital executives at each of the company’s businesses including Nickelodeon, MTV Films and the flagship MTV music effort.
The half-dozen-member group includes Greg Clayman, senior vice president of MTVN Mobile Media, and CTO Nick Rockwell.
“Our digital brands demonstrate the kind of innovation and creativity that have always been signatures of MTV Networks,” said Judy McGrath, CEO of MTV Networks. “Mike Salmi and his new team have the expertise to harness that collective power and deliver first-rate content across any and every screen.”
