SINGAPORE—Wireless casino software developer Spiral Solutions Ltd. said it has acquired the Ki-Bi card content distribution business.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Spiral subsidiary Spin3 took over Ki-Bi from Zone-IP Ltd. and will retain the Ki-Bi brand. Ki-Bi cards are sold in some retail stores and allow users to access content by dialing a toll-free number and pressing a button on the card as it is held near the phone’s mouthpiece. The acoustic signals transmitted by the card activate a mechanism that delivers content to the user’s phone.
Spin3 said it hopes to use the cards as another distribution channel for its mobile casino applications. “The Ki-Bi card is another distribution tool for our customers,” said Spin3 Chief Executive Officer Matti Zinder, “offering a fun experience to the end consumer (while) making mobile content transfer even easier.”
