PURCHASE, N.Y.—MasterCard Worldwide customers can find nearby ATMs with their mobile phones thanks to a new application from Mobile 365.
Under the new service, Mobile users can dial an 800 number and enter their location information to receive a text message detailing the location of the nearest cash machine. The voice-activated service was built by Convergys Corp., and is free to MasterCard users aside from carrier messaging charges.
“People don’t always have a pen or paper handy to write the ATM locations down, so SMS becomes an intuitive and convenient way to get the information they need,” said Jonathan Cetnarski, a senior vice president of subsidiary MasterCard Advisors L.L.C. “Travelers can finally go paperless in confidence.”
