Aperto supplies Irish systems, French pilot network

MILPITAS, Calif.-Ireland’s broadband wireless access provider Leap Broadband has begun deploying 3.5 GHz systems from Aperto Networks to complement its existing 5.8 GHz PacketWave point-to-multipoint systems from Aperto, throughout metro-Dublin.

“This eases our scalability as we already know the systems deployment and management processes,” said Bart Bonsall, Leap Broadband’s chief executive officer. “The growth should be transparent to our teams and our customers.”

In addition, France Telecom R&D has launched a pilot broadband wireless access network in France using Aperto’s 802.16-class 3.5 GHz PacketWave systems.
