AT&T Wireless Services Inc. signed a GSM/GPRS roaming agreement with Western Wireless Corp. that will enable AT&T Wireless customers to roam onto Western Wireless’ planned GSM/GPRS network in portions of 17 western states.

Financial terms of the agreement were not released, although it will be effective through December 2006.

AT&T Wireless said the agreement will expand its GSM/GPRS roaming coverage to approximately 35 million potential customers and bring its total GSM/GPRS service area to 250 million pops. The carrier noted its has signed regional roaming agreements with more than 30 carriers during the past year in addition to larger roaming deals with Cingular and T-Mobile USA.
