Copps, Victory to participate in bilateral trade talks

WASHINGTON—National Telecommunications and Administration director Nancy Victory and Federal Communications Commission member Michael Copps will participate in bilateral trade talks with China in Beijing later this month. Hu Jintao, vice president of China and likely successor to President Jiang Zemin next spring, discussed trade in talks here with President Bush. Bush is pushing for a Senate vote on fast-track trade authority, legislation strongly supported by the telecom and high-tech sectors.
