FRED KUZNIK APPOINTED PRESIDENT

SCHAUMBURG, Ill.-Motorola Inc. has appointed Fred Kuznik president of Motorola’s operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Kuznik returns to the region after six years in the United States, where he served as President of Motorola’s Personal Communications Sector.

A native of the Czech Republic, Fred Kuznik led a distinguished international career in telecommunications before joining Motorola in 1990. He served with a number of companies, including AT&T Corp., Arthur D. Little management consultants and Western Electric. His career with Motorola began in Europe, when he led the Land Mobile Products Sector in EMEA between 1990 and 1993.

“I am excited to be returning to the region, which continues to be an important export and research base for us,” said Kuznik. “We have doubled our staff numbers in the last decade and now employ over 20,000 people here in more than 34 countries.”

Kuznik will lead Motorola in Europe, Middle East and Africa, as the company continues to strengthen its 40-year commitment to the region. The company now has 13 manufacturing sites and 18 research and development centers in EMEA.
