PALM BEACH, Fla.-Applied Cellular Technology Inc. announced that it acquired Signature Industries of London, making it possible for the companies to market Signature Industries’ communications and safety products through Applied Cellular’s distribution channels.
Applied Cellular said it expects the acquisition to add about $20 million in revenues during the next year.
Signature Industries has developed new products to take advantage of emerging opportunities in data transfer through wireless technology. Its Vendlink product wirelessly provides real-time information on a vending machine’s cash, inventory and service status.
Liberty 5000, an intelligent modem server that facilitates data transfer over any radio network, has a built-in Global Positioning System receiver for vehicle location and remote functionality, which can immobilize an engine, lock or open doors and activate a video camera or microphone, said the companies.
