DELRAY BEACH, Fla.-Sims Communications Inc. and the American Automobile Association have teamed to offer rented cellular phones to AAA’s 890,000 members in the Carolinas.
The product package called “TripFone,” is delivered via Federal Express to subscribers, the companies said.
Sims Communications said it currently provides this product and other services to subscribers of AAA in the Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi markets.
“We are extremely excited and honored to be working with one of the most respected and recognizable organizations in America,” said Mel Leiner, president and chief executive officer of Sims Communications.
“We are proud to have been selected over many fine companies who submitted proposals to AAA Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi,” Leiner added.
In addition, Sims Communications said it recently installed eight fully automated real-time cellular rental machines at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Once three additional machines are installed, the company expects units to produce annual revenues of more than $500,000.
