By 2000, this figure should rise to 28 percent of total expenditures for local loop. The new technologies contributing to the local loop market include ISDN, SONET, ATM, AIN, broadband video, PCS and LMDS. PCS equipment sales for local loop telephony will jump 75 percent from 1996 to 2000.
