Ericsson promotes Texas Ex as new CMO

Ericsson LogoThe new chief marketing officer at Ericsson (ERIC) is an orange blood who is moving up the corporate ladder at the provider of telecom and data communication systems based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Arun Bhikshesvaran, current VP of strategy and marketing in the North America region at Ericsson, will begin his new job on the first day of July this year.

Bhikshesvaran has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and completed post-graduate executive programs in general management and business marketing at Columbia Business School and at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

“(Bhikshesvaran) has worked in the North American market for many years where we have seen new consumer habits and business needs develop from the intersection of broadband, mobility and cloud-based offerings,” said Jan Wäreby, senior VP and head of sales and marketing. “He also has a deep understanding of new, digital media and social networks, which is an environment that will be very important to our marketing efforts going forward. Arun will help us to make the transition from being purely a telecoms supplier to one of a trusted business partner in the ICT space.”

Bhikshesvaran has been with Ericsson since 1995 and has more than 15 years of experience in the wireless communications realm. His positions at the company have included roles in research and development, project management and solutions management.
