Verizon in court; iPhone in China … top stories for 9/9/13

Today marks the beginning of Verizon Communications’ court case challenging the FCC’s net neutrality rule. The nation’s largest carrier, which is also an ISP, wants to have more choice about what services it provides and how much it charges for those services. The government wants service providers to give all content providers equal treatment.

In other news, China Mobile’s 750 million subscribers may finally be getting the iPhone. The breakthrough for Apple comes as Chinese manufacturers are aggressively expanding their market share in the world’s biggest smartphone market.
