CARY, N.C.-TowerCo Inc. announced it has begun operations at its Cary, N.C., headquarters and a southeast region office in Richmond, Va., on a commitment of up to $50 million in equity financing from Tailwind Capital Partners L.L.C.
“Our plan is to quickly build a reputation as reliable, hard-working, agile and responsive business partners who deliver results,” said Richard Byrne, chief executive officer of the company. “We are confident that our capabilities and commitment to our customers will enable us to build a successful tower company.”
The new company’s management team brings strong experience to the venture. Byrne previously served as president of SpectraSite Inc.’s tower division. TowerCo’s Chief Operating Officer Scot Lloyd previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Global Signal Inc. and before that was vice president of sales at SpectraSite. Additionally, Dan Hunt, chief financial officer, once served as vice president of finance at SpectraSite.
