Rakuten Symphony reckons the solution delivers a 70-80% reduction in deployment timelines, costs, and errors

In sum – what to know:

Deployment gains – Integration with Weezie can reduce fiber planning timelines from months to weeks and cut deployment costs and errors by up to 80%.

Global rollout – Rakuten Symphony is targeting North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America across telecom, utilities and data center segments.

Japanese company Rakuten Symphony is integrating Weezie’s fiber network design and planning software into its portfolio, aiming to accelerate fiber deployment timelines and reduce operational complexity for operators and enterprises.

The partnership, announced this week, will embed Weezie’s capabilities into Rakuten Symphony’s fiber network offering, enabling customers to plan, design, deploy and operate fiber infrastructure more efficiently, the company said.

Rakuten Symphony said the integrated solution is designed to eliminate the need for operators to build complex automation capabilities internally, while improving visibility and simplifying management of large-scale fiber networks.

Krishna Mohan, associate director at Rakuten Symphony, told RCR Wireless News that that the solution can deliver a “70% to 80% reduction in deployment timelines, cost, and recurring errors from planning to deployment that are based on fiber network design and plan.”

The Japanese company is targeting multiple regions for the rollout of the new solution. “The solution is ready to market, and we are prioritizing North America, Europe and U.K., Asia, and Latin America,” Mohan said. The executive added that key customer segments include broadband and communication service ´providers, fiber network system integrators, utilities, and large data center providers.

Rakuten Symphony chief marketing officer Geoff Hollingworth said that there is a massive overlap between mobile and fiber networks, noting that mobile networks have a radio at the end of the fiber network. He added that the solution reduces the number of tools needed for deployments.

Hollingworth told RCR Wireless News that the approach provides a single source of truth for the network, and that centralized data leads to greater benefits and AI-powered automation.

Weezie’s platform is designed to support large, complex fiber deployments by reducing manual processes and operational risk, while integrating planning, execution and monitoring into a unified environment. The company is headquartered in Porto, Portugal.
