Why an SI? How a cellular systems integrator can help your private network succeed

Private cellular networks offer tremendous benefits for enterprises: better security than Wi-Fi, smooth handovers between radios, improved throughput and latency, and future-proof support for a diverse set of use cases.

An expert partner is necessary to bring private networks to their full capabilities and tailor them to meet specific enterprise needs. These deployments require in-depth cellular knowledge and integration skills that are beyond the scope of enterprise IT departments. Private networks require an investment in time and effort to translate cellular system capabilities into specific network parameters that will serve the business, now and in the future—and most IT departments don’t have the time or technical skills required.

There’s a lot to manage: 3GPP architectures, cellular interfaces, whether to use shared CBRS spectrum versus leasing licensed spectrum, establishing site-specific and cohesive parameters, and ensuring they are maintained. 4G and 5G private network technologies provide a steep learning curve with their complexities of design and new feature sets including Network Slicing. Enterprises may know they want a private network but not how to get from ideation to a successful end-state network. That’s where a systems integrator can help. TeleWorld Solutions draws on its RF engineering expertise supporting Tier 1 cellular network operators as well as its intelligent and automated, proprietary tools to build the private network you need.

Each enterprise is unique, and so is your network. A deployment requires careful consideration and planning around aspects such as the number and type of devices needed, network and device provisioning, SIM management, establishing KPIs, SLA requirements, and ongoing network management and optimization.

So why turn to an SI for planning, deployment, and integration of a private network? Typically, SIs have worked with major mobile network operators on macro network deployments and know the ins and outs of cellular deployments in different environments, indoor or out, and how to anticipate and resolve issues. An SI can ensure that the private network supports all the enterprise’s desired applications, from voice (including e911) to data, messaging, IoT, and more. Crucially, SIs are also able to manage overall deployment-related costs—such as expensive testing tools—that a single enterprise may have difficulty undertaking on its own.

TeleWorld Solutions has designed over 300,000 wireless network sites and deployed and optimized thousands of macro-cellular and small-cell sites for Tier 1 operators. The company has deep expertise across cellular technologies, including massive MIMO, LTE, 5G, NB-IoT, network core, and transport. TeleWorld Solutions brings that cellular expertise to private network deployments, from consulting on business case and use case development to designing and implementing a network built on right-sized capacity and performance in the Radio Access Network, backhaul, and core. It follows up deployment with services around provisioning, cloud/edge performance management, and an AI- and ML-based network operations center (NOC) that provides 24×7 network assurance and support.
