Norwegian system integrator Northcom Solutions has signed with Nokia to resell the Finnish firm’s private LTE and 5G solution, Digital Automation Cloud (DAC), into critical industrial sectors. Northcom has a presence in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, and a track record of selling Industry 4.0 consultancy and integration services into the defence, emergency services, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
The firm said on social media it will “create tailored private 5G solutions” for industrial enterprises based on Nokia’s DAC bundle; these will offer “unprecedented speed, reliability, and security”, it said. Northcom, convened as a single entity out of separate SI firms across the Nordic region in 2020, supplies TETRA, DMR, and IP/LTE connectivity. It has been a part of Nokia’s global reseller scheme since the middle of last year, but the private 5G launch is new.
Writing on LinkedIn, Per Arne Kroken, product manager at Northcom, commented: “Northcom has become a trusted partner for defence, police, and various industries. Nokia has formal system-integrator relationships around its DAC solution with Accenture, Atos, Bluewolf, DXC Technology, EY, Hitachi Kokusai Electric, IBM, Infosys, Kyndryl, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra , and Wipro.
