Casa Systems to deploy small cell solutions for Sprint, China Mobile and Telefonica

 

Casa System’s CEO Jerry Guo said the firm is in negotiations with these telcos to expand to new product areas

Casa Systems is in the process to deploy of small cell solutions for Sprint, Telefonica and China Mobile, the company’s CEO Jerry Guo recently said in a conference call with investors.

The executive said that Casa Systems had signed contracts with these three carriers for its Axyom small cell core and associated small cell management software as well as for the firm’s Apex 4G small cells.

“We have begun deployments with all these customers and are already in discussion with them about expanding into new geographies and new product areas. We have also recently signed another Tier 1 customer in Latin America for our Axyom small cell core and security solutions,” the executive added.

China Mobile is using Casa’s technology to provide connectivity services for enterprise and residential customers. The Chinese carrier, working in conjunction with compatriot telco Datang Mobile, was looking for a way to provide 4G connectivity services for enterprise and residential customers. Casa Systems said.

Telefónica Spain is deploying Casa’s 4G Apex Small Cells and Small Cell management solution to improve in-building quality of service and coverage for residential customers.

The company’s small cell portfolio includes Apex Small Cells, Axyom Small Cell Manager, and Axyom virtualized Small Cell Core.

Casa’s end‑to‑end mobile access solutions support 3G and 4G cellular as well as Wi‑Fi, LTE‑Advanced, 3.5G Hz CBRS and MuLTEfire access.

Casa Systems recently launched a new solution dubbed Apex PicoStrand RAN. The new solution is designed to accelerate the deployment of outdoor pico cells to meet the growing demand for better mobile coverage and capacity, the company said.

“The Apex PicoStrand is the latest addition to Casa Systems’ RAN portfolio and addresses network coverage and capacity needs for today’s subscribers,” the company said in a statement. “Casa’s RAN solutions include lifestyle small cells, enterprise small cells, indoor picocells, outdoor pole mount picocells and the PicoStrand – to meet service providers’ evolving needs.”

Casa Systems also said that the new product features a carrier-grade design with smart plug-and-play installation that supports LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD; hybrid self-organizing network support; and SON macro integration as well as intelligent traffic management with end-to-end QoS support.
