SevOne introduces SDN Monitoring Solution 2.0 for Cisco ACI

Infrastructure management software company SevOne premiered the second version of its software-defined defined (SDN) monitoring platform for Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI).

SevOne launched its SDN Monitoring Solution last year. The solution combines SevOne’s network and infrastructure monitoring functionality with Cisco’s ACI to provide complete visibility into the components that comprise a Cisco ACI-based deployment.

Cisco describes its ACI architecture as a comprehensive SDN solution. According to the company, the policy-based automation solution “supports a business-relevant application policy language, increased scalability through a distributed enforcement system and greater network visibility.” What SevOne’s SDN Monitoring Solution does is offer insight into ACI environments.

SevOne’s SDN Monitoring Solution 2.0 comes with 10 interactive dashboards that provide visibility into the virtual overlay and the physical underlay of single or multi-cluster Cisco ACI deployments. The solution gives IT teams access to real-time and historical insight into tenant and end-point group relationships, health scores, multi-APIC cluster statuses as well as fabric capacity analysis, which are combined with metadata enrichment.

In addition to monitoring traditional network and software-defined infrastructure from a single dashboard, SevOne SDN Monitoring Solution 2.0 enables new ACI infrastructures to be automatically monitored as soon as they are deployed. Moreover, the solution provides insight into how infrastructure performance impacts the applications and services available in an ACI deployment. Users can also extend visibility to other data center assets, such as firewalls and load balancers, or across the campus to wide area networks (WANs) and branch offices, according to the company.

“With Cisco ACI, designed from the start as an open and programmable software defined networking solution, organizations can automate IT workflows, shorten app deployment time, and build multi-cloud networks with a consistent policy model,” said Ranga Rao, director of data center networks at Cisco, in a statement. “By combining ACI with the SevOne SDN Monitoring Solution, organizations can gain additional operational insight that is easily scalable for growth.”
