Aryaka, Radware collaborate to detect and mitigate DDoS attacks

Aryaka and Radware announce partnership

Global SD-WAN provider Aryaka and cyber security services provider Radware are teaming up to implement Distributed-Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack detection and mitigation for its global enterprise services.

DDoS is a kind of attack that attempts to prevent a service from being delivered by flooding it with traffic from multiple computer systems. According to a DDoS Trends Report by Corero Network Security, DDoS attacks are becoming increasingly common and advanced. The authors of the report found that Corero customers experienced on average 237 attacks per month in the third quarter 2017, an increase of 35% in comparison to the previous quarter.

“DDoS continues to be one of the fastest growing attacks that become more sophisticated every year,” Gary Sevounts, chief marketing officer at Aryaka, told RCR Wireless News. “Many enterprises lack resources and in-depth unique security skill sets required for addressing DDoS attacks. In addition to that, DDoS attacks continue morphing, which makes it even harder to protect against.”

Radware provides a suite of DDoS protection solutions and web application security offerings, which it will bring to a layer of Aryaka’s global private network. Radware’s Hybrid Attack Mitigation Service, for example, integrates on-premise detection and mitigation with cloud-based volumetric attack scrubbing, according to the company.

“The first layer is Aryaka’s global private network, which provides international enterprises with reliability, performance, and industry-leading security. Business-critical application traffic traversing through this private network is not exposed to the public Internet and does not have entry points that can be potentially exploited by threat actors. The second layer is enterprise-grade end-to-end encryption,” explained Sevounts.

“The next layer of data protection and threat mitigation is provided by Aryaka’s ecosystem of industry-leading security partners, such as Radware. Radware’s family of DDoS security solutions provides integrated application and network security for Aryaka’s best of breed, multi-layered security architecture and DDoS attack prevention,” he added.

Radware said would provide Aryaka protection accuracy with patent-protected behavioral based detection to protect legitimate traffic and real-time signature creation for zero-day attack protection. Among the patented and integrated technologies leveraged by Radware’s Attack Mitigation Service include DefensePro and DefensePipe, which are combined together to safeguard against potential DDoS attacks.

The collaboration follows Aryaka teaming up with Zscaler early this year to deliver a joint SD-WAN cloud-security offering. Under the collaboration, the companies said they would work to enable companies to consume cloud-native private connectivity and cloud-delivered security in a unified solution.
