Texas Wireless Summit brings industry and academia together

The 2017 Texas Wireless Summit (TWS) will take place November 6-7, 2017 in UT Austin’s new flagship engineering building, the Engineering Education and Research Center. Featured sessions and panels on diverse topics include millimeter wave and 5G, the future of automated vision and navigation, software-defined networking, and new directions in machine learning.

This year’s Summit also marks the fifteenth anniversary of the founding of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG), and will be led off by all Directors of WNCG over the years, including Ted Rappaport.

Since its launch at UT Austin in 2002, WNCG has produced many seminal research results with wide-ranging impact on today’s cellular and WiFi wireless networks. The “products” WNCG is most proud of, however, are their over 300 brilliant doctoral graduates. In keeping with this celebration, the technical sessions for this year’s Summit will feature WNCG alumni who today stand at the forefront of nearly every area in wireless technology, and include many prolific innovators in leading companies, startups and in academia.
