Kagan: Judge at AOTMP Telecom Management Conference

In addition to being a wireless and telecom analyst, I am also a columnist and author, so I am asked to judge many conference awards. The 2017 AOTMP Telecom Management Conference Awards are for the best telecom management, best practices and industry standards for enterprises and vendors. The telecom and IT solution vendors will be recognized at the Fixed and Mobile Telecom Management Conference Awards event on April 11.

The award categories are hottest new solution, best customer success program, top value proposition, outstanding case study and rising star. Each of these evaluate top performance in telecom. In each category, there were three companies and solutions, with most of them very impressive and forward thinking.

AOTMP Awards for wireline and wireless, fixed and mobile telecom

As far as I am concerned, every one of these companies and contestants should be considered winners. Companies like Wandera, MDSL, G Squared Wireless, Calero, CBI Telecommunications Consultants, Alliance Communications Management, Asentinel, Comview, MOBI, ICOMM, Network Control, Cass, Asignet, TNX and CBI Telecommunications Consultants.

Like you, I look forward to following their growth going forward. We all know mobile and wireless is a rapidly growing and changing space. However, many think the wireline side is slowing down. Truth is, nothing could be farther from the truth. Telecom is rapidly growing on both sides of the house.

Consider all the activity buzzing around the industry. Things like the cloud, artificial intelligence, cognitive, virtual reality and all sorts of new technologies coming from all sorts of new areas in both the wireless and wireline sectors. Bottom line: all these amazing and transformative technologies need networks to reach out and connect.

This will be a very active and rapidly growing space going forward. So, the bottom line is that the telecom industry is starting another rapid growth curve that should last at least another decade or two before it changes direction once again. This is a great time to be a worker, investor, executive or customer in this area. This is also a great time if you can interact with and nurture relationships with other sectors. That will open up so many new opportunities for you both personally and for your company.

So, let me wish all the contestants good luck. It will be good to follow them, the changes in leadership and innovation in company after company over the next decade. I expect a rapid growth wave to continue to transform and grow the industry.
