Wi-Fi network provider IPass, continuing on its growth arc, this week expanded its relationship with Deutsche Telekom to allow Deutsche’s enterprise customers to access the IPass network of more than 20 million Wi-Fi hot spots around the world.
Deutsche Telekom VP of business Hans Panse said Wi-Fi is a “must-have for enterprises, especially for those that have a mobile workforce. With IPass’ strategy of unlimited, everywhere, and invisible access, they are the ideal partner to help us meet our customers’ insatiable appetite for Wi-Fi wherever they are in the world. People don’t want to register with different networks or enter logins and passwords every time they connect to a different Wi-Fi network. They want a simple, hassle-free experience, which is exactly what we can offer with IPass.”

IPass plans on continuing to expand its global footprint with ambitions of providing customers with access to a network of 50 million hot spots by the end of 2015.
On Nov. 2, IPass announced a deal with Fon; iPass customers now have access to Fon’s network of 9 million Wi-Fi hot spots, which means the IPass network will encompass 50 million Wi-Fi hot spots worldwide by the end of 2015. The two companies are still working on an arrangement that will let Fon customers use the larger IPass network.
