T-Mobile US, Verizon trade quips in the sky and on Twitter

T-Mobile US sky message for Verizon

T-Mobile US took to the sky – and to Twitter – to continue its antagonism of its larger competitor, prompting a war of words on social media.

The spat began when T-Mobile US flew a plane over Verizon Communication’s headquarters in Basking Ridge, N.J., and wrote “end overages now” and other phrases in the sky. T-Mobile US said it was writing the message on behalf of consumers who want Verizon Wireless to end overage penalties.

See the messages for yourself below.

Unsurprisingly, T-Mobile US documented the whole process on social media.

Verizon responded with a powerful retort of its own in which it stood behind its No. 1 ranked network using an animated graphic that said “#1 in speed, reliability, performance” in a skywriting font.

T-Mobile US of course responded in kind with the hashtag #VzwAteTheirWheatiesToday.

Who won? You decide.
