Comptel sees new business growth

Comptel's CEO Juhani Hintikka

Comptel reported 17%  growth in new business during the most recent quarter, although its net sales were largely flat.
Juhani Hintikka, president and CEO of Comptel, said that the company won five new customers during the first half of the year, compared to a total of four for the previous year, as well as signing “significant new deals with existing customers.
“While market conditions continue to be challenging, especially in Europe, in this quarter we made some progress in Europe. In the first half, Latin America has been very challenging and net sales have decreased from last year,” Hintikka added.
Net sales decreased by 0.3 percent in the quarter, compared to the year-ago period, at 20.6 million Euros ($27.6 million). For the first half of the year, Comptel saw its net sales drop nearly 8% compared to the first half of last year. The company generally sees a stronger second half, according to its quarterly report (pdf here).
Hitikka went on to say that Comptel is seeing positive results from its investments in new business areas, and that it received half a dozen significant orders during the second quarter, valued at more than 500,000 Euro ($671,000).  The company reported that it made three major software releases in its fulfillment, policy and charging control, and advanced analytics areas during the first half.
For the full year, the company expects that revenues will remain at 2013 levels of 5-10 million Euros, or $6.7-$13.4 million.
