Nokia's Ojanpera splinters off to Vision+ development fund

Longtime Nokia Corp. (NOK) executive Tero Ojanpera is leaving the company after 21 years. He isn’t completely cutting ties with the Finnish giant though.
Ojanpera is taking on a new role as the head of an investment fund called Vision+. While the fund will remain independent, Nokia is major investor in Vision+.
Vision+’s mission is to expand application and games development for Nokia’s ecosystem, particularly Microsoft Corp.’s (MSFT) Windows Phone 7 operating system. Vision wants to focus on development around gaming, entertainment, education, preventative health care and wellness. It hopes to eventually expand into clean water and energy.
“My new role at Vision+ will give me a fantastic opportunity to leverage my strong industry relationships and versatile experience built up within Nokia and the surrounding mobile ecosystem. Vision+ will be able to provide support to developers and entrepreneurs when they plan to introduce the best visions and product concepts into global and local markets. I look forward working together with these companies targeting to monetize their great ideas,” Ojanper
