Swype Inc. has released the third major version of its text input solution for touch-screen devices in beta. Key features of the update include predictive tap, horizontal word choice and the ability to resize and move the virtual keyboard around on tablets.
Swype 3.0 beta, which users can download at swype.com, is compatible with a wide range of devices, including those with HVGA, WVGA, FWVGA, QVGA, WQVGA, WSVGA and qHD screen sizes. Swype 3.0 enables users to more easily toggle between typing and swyping and the horizontal word choice list gives users more direct control to the dictionary and word selection.
The Seattle-based company has also released a special Honeycomb-only WXGA version for Android tablets.
