Mobile data revenues in BRIC to surpass $48B by 2013

Adoption of messaging and content services, along with growing availability of 2G and 3G mobile networks, should push mobile data revenues in Brazil, Russia, India and China to more than $48.3 billion by 2013, from $26.2 million this year, according to a report from Juniper Research.
The four markets are collectively known as the BRIC economies. These markets are expected to be among the six largest world economies by 2050, said the report. The BRIC mobile user base is expected to grow from 1.209 billion this year to 1.644 billion in 2013. Operators in these markets should focus on the launch of commercial 3G services as well as migrating low-cost prepaid users to higher-value postpaid offerings, said the report.
