Handset maker Pantech announced a three-year licensing agreement with VoiceSignal. Under the terms of the agreement, Pantech will get access to VoiceSignal’s range of speech-recognition products, which allow users to manipulate a variety of handset functions and services using their voice.
“It is particularly gratifying to enter into this new license with Pantech since it not only demonstrates Pantech’s commitment to VoiceSignal and our products, but also reaffirms the quality of our engineering and support for our customers,” said Rich Geruson, CEO of VoiceSignal.
Pantech joins a number of handset heavyweights in using VoiceSignal’s technologies, including Motorola Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. Speech-recognition company Nuance recently announced plans to acquire VoiceSignal in a $300 million deal.
