Thumbplay inks EMI deal

Direct-to-consumer content provider Thumbplay Inc. expanded its music portfolio through a new pact with EMI Music.
Thumbplay sells ringtones, games and text-based services from its online storefront through both a la carte and subscription models. The company said the deal includes content from EMI acts The Beach Boys, Beastie Boys, Coldplay, Gorillaz and Pink Floyd.
“EMI Music has a tremendous catalog of well-known and up-and-coming artists,” said Thumbplay CEO Are Traasdahl, “and we are thrilled to offer this access to our members.”
