Sling Media Inc. continued to expand its wireless functionality, adding support for devices running Palm Inc.’s operating system.
The place-shifting technology company said owners of its flagship SlingBox device can now use SlingPlayer Mobile software to access home TV broadcasts on Treo smartphones running both Palm OS and Microsoft Corp.’s Windows Mobile OS, including the Treo 700p, 700w, 700wx and 750.
Sling also supports Windows Mobile-enabled smartphones and Pocket PCs as well as devices running Symbian OS.
“We continue to see more and more customer interest in mobile TV, driven by expanded platform support and, more importantly, by the ability to watch the programming that matters to each customer,” said Sling Media CEO Blake Krikorian.
