Global Wireless Entertainment acquires SkinIt

LAS VEGAS—Global Wireless Entertainment Inc. said it acquired SkinIt Inc., which provides on-demand and custom physical personalization of mobile devices.

GWE, which manages celebrities and brands in the mobile media environment, said SkinIt has merged with its Cellfan.com business. Together the businesses will provide vinyl skin personalization services for more than 500 mobile devices, including cellular phones, iPods, gaming consoles, laptop and desktop computers and monitors.

The companies can personalize skins with sports team designs, sports icons, college logos, music bands, some television shows, comic books and military insignia. In addition, customers can upload their own photographs and images for personalization at SkinIt.com. Prices range from $13 to $30 with extra charges for uploaded images.

SkinIt said its partners and customers include T-Mobile, Toshiba, Sports Illustrated, XM Radio, Telus, Fido Communications, Swisscom, Telecom New Zealand, Sanyo and Samsung.
