InterDigital offers financial guidance, says Samsung hearing delayed

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.-InterDigital Communications Corp. said it expects revenue from current licensees and General Dynamics during the second quarter to be between $37.2 million and $38.5 million.

Patent license royalty revenue from current licensees during the quarter is expected to range from $32.5 million to $33 million, said the company. Revenue associated with the company’s relationship with General Dynamics should equal or exceed first-quarter revenues of $4.7 million, said InterDigital.

In related news, InterDigital said the evidentiary hearing scheduled for June in its arbitration with Samsung has been postponed by mutual agreement between the companies and the responsible arbitration tribunal. The company said it now expects the hearing to begin in October.

The delay is intended to allow InterDigital and Samsung Corp. to assess the effect of their arbitration of the pending final award from the arbitral tribunal in InterDigital’s arbitration with Nokia Corp. before the International Chamber of Commerce, said the company.

InterDigital is in royalty disputes with both Nokia and Samsung.
