Boeing, T-Systems look at partnership

HANNOVER, Germany-T-Systems’ carrier division, International Carrier Sales & Solutions and Connexion by BoeingSM, a business unit of the Boeing Co., signed a memorandum of understanding to explore linking the Connexion by Boeing service to T-Systems’ WLAN Roaming Platform.

Through the partnership, Connexion by Boeing would offer real-time access to the Internet and corporate intranets to airline travelers using a wireless carrier that is connected to T-Systems’ WLAN Roaming Platform when flying on airlines with the Connexion system onboard. The set-up would provide T-Systems customers with streamlined billing, customer support and in-flight access to the Internet.

“With this solution, we open up our services to more potential customers and give corporate business travelers the opportunity to have high-speed Internet access in planes through their home provider,” explained David Friedman, vice president, marketing and corporate sales, Connexion by Boeing.
