FaceTime launches IM Auditor app

FOSTER CITY, Calif.-FaceTime Communications, Foster City, Calif., introduced commercially Oct. 8 its IM Auditor application, which permits the management, control and interoperability of any enterprise’s wired or wireless device with public and private instant messaging networks.

FaceTime said its IM Auditor “bridges all wireless networks and supports thin clients for all major wireless devices, including Palm III, V and VII, Visor, RIM and CE devices for secure, mobile-to-mobile wireless IM.”

The IM Auditor, designed to be installed behind corporate firewalls, includes administrative controls for information technology departments.

“Online identity management and IM screen name mapping to enterprise directories enable organizations to authorize employees to continue to use the popular public instant messaging networks such as AOL, Microsoft and Yahoo! for real-time communications, while ensuring administrative controls are in place for customers that need to comply with government and industry regulations,” FaceTime said.
