Sony showcases new versions of Clie

MAKUHARI, Japan-Sony showed off two new versions of its Clie PDA at this week’s CEATEC Japan 2002 show in Makuhari, Japan-the PEG-NX60 and PEG-NX70, both of which feature Palm’s new version 5.0 operating system and an ARM processor.

Both models have slots for adding optional wireless local area network cards to allow users to access the Web, check e-mail and synchronize wireless data with a PC. Both also include voice recorders that allow users to record and play back voice memos, and built-in MP3 players, complete with remote controllers and headphones.

The PEG-NX70 also features a built in digital camera that can take digital pictures, record and play back video, and save images in a JPEG format.
