Emblaze completes interoperability tests on GPRS networks

TEL AVIV, Israel-Emblaze Systems Inc. said Aug. 12 it has completed successfully a series of interoperability tests of its rich media delivery system over live GPRS networks to three advanced mobile phones, the Nokia 7650, the Sendo Z100 Multimedia Smartphone and the Sony-Ericsson P800.

The tests involved the transfer of standard media formats, like JPEG, GIFF, WBMP and MPEG-4 video, to each handset at variable rates between 9.6 kilobits per second and 30 kpbs, the company said.

Services implemented in the trials included animated greetings, event-based push notifications like breaking news and updated sports scores and image and video messaging.

Emblaze conducted a similar live demonstration using the Samsung V100 phone in Cannes, France, at the GSM exhibition in February.
