Vytek Wireless acquires Extendea

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Mobile computing provider Vytek Wireless Inc. announced two acquisitions, moves the company said would help it expand into the fleet management and public safety industries.

First, Vytek announced it purchased the business of Atlanta-based Extendea Inc., including its fleet management Extend:Fleet product line.

“Vytek is committed to providing the transportation industry with solutions that link people, processes and information; the acquisition of the Extend:Fleet product line is an important step toward meeting that objective,” said James Ousley, president and chief executive officer of Vytek.

Separately, Vytek said it bought the rights to the Paradigm4 Public Safety products, which the company said are designed to provide real-time, secure access to federal, state and local criminal justice databases. Vytek said the additional products will expand on the solutions offering in its newly created Public Safety Solution Practice.
